25 Days of Makeup – Day 15 – Femme Fatale

Day 15, a day late. Apparently, I needed to hibernate for a while. Anywho, the theme is Femme Fatale. When I think of Femme Fatale, I think; Bond Girls, Assassins, Dita Von Teese and Lana Del Rey. This look is a combination of all. I chose the classic elements of makeup associated with a Femme Fatale, deep red lips, winged liner and dramatic lashes.

So let’s get started!

NYX Brow Gel

First things first, I got to get my brows on fleek. I’m straight up obsessed with my eyebrows. I have to get them on before anything else. I chose the NYX Brow Gel because I wanted some perfected dramatic brows. I’ve really grown to love this product too lately. You can read my full review here.

Now that the brows are on, it’s prime time! I’m trying out a new one today, Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

Then get your handy dandy scotch tape out because that’s what I used as my guide to creating a clean winged look. For a full demo on how to use tape to aid your wing liner needs look here.

I laid down a base shade using Vintage Lace from The Too Faced Le Grande Palais Gift Set. All the shadows I’m using can easily be substituted.

I highlighted my brow bone with White Christmas as well.

photo pixlr_20151215053051276_zpsqg7bsli8.jpgNext up, using Cobblestone, a matte cool toned brown, I began defining my crease area. I applied the most pigment into the outer portion of the eye and blended it up toward the tail of my brow and into the crease. For this, I used a fluffy blending brush and a smaller blending brush to build the color in the outer V.

photo pixlr_20151215053125538_zpsd4rz8spi.jpgWith that smaller blending brush, I added Belle Femme to the outer V area and blended it toward the lid softly to get a nice gradient. I also pulled the color out along the outer portion of the tail of the brow. This gives a very lifted appearance to the eye.

Now for the fun part, the liner.

I lined my upper lash line as you normally would with a gel liner and a pointed liner brush. I dragged the liner out to the tape and kept building the liner until I liked the size and shape.

Huzzah! it’s so satisfying when you remove the tape. I went in with Stiletto (matte black) and softened the liner on an angled liner brush.

I tidied up the edges of the liner, and cleaned up my under eye, At this point, I did my face makeup but we’ll get to that later.

On the lower lash line, I took Belle Femme (dark brown) and blended it with an angled liner brush on the outer portion of the lower lash line. Then blended it with Cobblestone (matte soft brown) and pulled it inward toward the inner corner. I added a touch of Stiletto (matte black) to the outermost corner and connected the lower lash line to the wing.

After piles of my most voluminous mascara and a flesh colored pencil along the water line, we’re done with the eyes.

Contour, highlight, and blush.

I opted for a more chiseled cool toned contour. I didn’t want warmth in the look really for the skin. I wanted to keep it porcelain yet sculpted so I used another new product. The Sephora Colorful Contour Powder in Tranquil.

For my highlight, I used Flush from the Too Faced Le Grande Palais. It’s lovely champagne highlight with a gold flash.

I chose a pink blush for a more rosy look. I’m really loving Skyline from The Too Faced Le Grande Palais.

On the lips, I got a little high maintenance. I mixed 3 shades.
