Happy Wednesday! Today, I have a review of the Too Faced Peanut Butter and Honey Eye Shadow Palette, plus a few looks to show you what you can do with this little guy.
Obviously, I have a thing for bees and anything made with honey so I snatched up this palette the day it launched from TooFaced.com. That honey color shade sold me and I actually didn’t have the legendary Peanut Butter shade that became so huge after it’s launch in the Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette. I personally have never been into the Chocolate Bar line but this one I just couldn’t pass it up.
The packaging on this little fella is too cute. I’m not much for cutesy but I can’t even with the cuteness here. It’s incredibly detailed from the box it comes into the inside of the palette.
The box the palette comes in is on a new level of quality. It’s a sturdy rubberized cardboard and the word honey is raised with a translucent finish that looks like real honey.
The palette is the classic tin palette that Too Faced 9 pan palettes usually come in. The outside is patterned with a honeycomb print and the cutest little peanut buttered lipstick wearing slice of bread with her little bee friend hanging out in the corner. Like the box, the word honey is a raised translucent type of embossing that makes it looks just like real honey. On the inside, you have a nice mirror with gold writing around the outside.
Each shadow is labeled and laid out in trios meant to go together, each trio is labeled and a mini tutorial card is provided that shows you have to create a look with each trio.
The eyeshadows are pigmented but not so much that that are messy. This is an easy palette that anyone can work with and you can do a look in no time and they blend with minimal effort.
The formula is truly silky and smooth. You have a variety of finishes as well. All lean warm and neutral. I’ll go into all the details and break this down by trio. And yes, it is scented. To me, it smells like cookies rather than anything else. It’s an artificial type of fragrance and I don’t smell any peanut butter thankfully cause I really hate the smell of peanut butter. However, it does have hints of honey which I love.
Sweet as Honey
Creamed Honey – Creamy pale tan with micro glitter.
Peanut Butter – Iconic Peanut Butter shadow from the Chocolate Bar Semi – Sweet and the Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette. It’s a new peanut butter colored medium brown with a matte finish.
Going Nuts – A blackened bronze shade with a shimmery bronze reflect.
Bee Sweet – A warm matte pale pink.
Honey Brittle – Soft warm peach with a matte finish.
Bee’s Knees – A warm amber brown slightly deeper and redder than Peanut Butter packed with gold glitter.
PB & H
Queen Bee – A cool parchment off white shade with a satin finish.
Honey Buns – A unique honey yellow shade with a matte finish (my favorite)
Feelin Nutty – Medium brown with a yellow undertone and a matte finish. Very pigmented.
Even though it comes with the suggested looks, I went rogue and did my own thing. Here’s 3 I came up with.
The Too Faced Peanut Butter and Honey Palette is a great everyday go to palette if you are a fan of warm neutrals which I am. You can really create some fun grungy looks and some sweet springtime looks. Despite being all similar in color you can get some variety out of it. I think this is more of collector’s type of palette. It’s for the fans of the Peanut Butter shade and the Chocolate Bar line for sure.
The quality is fantastic though and if you like these types of colors, get it!
The Too Faced Peanut Butter and Honey Palette retails for $36 and is available online and in stores where Too Faced is sold for a limited time.
