New Dawn Fades – Urban Decay Naked 2 Makeup Tutorial

NEW DAWN FADES (1)

What up guys? Been a minute. I am having some technical difficulties thanks to Photobucket so I have been fixing images for the last few days and took some time off from blogging. I’m currently switching my images over to WordPress from Photobucket, not all the post are corrected but I’m making my way through them.

Anyway, continuing my little foray into Urban Decay’s Naked Collection. Part 2 of the Lust or Bust is coming Friday, I wanted to do some more research first. Today, however, I have a quick and easy everyday look using the Naked 2.  I was kind of inspired after I did my review of the Naked 2, I was talking about how I really didn’t like the shades Snakebite and Suspect all that much so I decided to do a look with them and see if I could change my own mind. I kind of did too. At least with the Suspect shade.

So if you want so see how to get this summer look using my least favorite shades from the Naked 2, just keep reading below.

The Eyes

Eyes are primed and my brows are done as per usual. I set the lid using Foxy (cream bisque matte) all over the lid as my base shade.

I brought Foxy all the way to the browbone as a soft browbone highlight. NEW DAWN FADES (2)Next up, I took Tease (creamy pale brown matte) into the crease and transition area.

I really blended Tease out toward the tail of the brow in a cat-like shape to give my eyes a subtle lifted look. I built up the pigmentation on the outer portion of the crease/transition area. I blended Tease just slightly above my natural crease to make my eyes appear larger. NEW DAWN FADES (6)On a flat shader brush I dampened with setting spray I patted on Suspect (pale golden beige shimmer)  up to the crease and all over the lid. I don’t hate this color, it’s just underwhelming I guess.
NEW DAWN FADES (7)To add a pop of shine I popped a little Half Baked (golden bronze shimmer)  into the center of the lid with my finger tip.

I also blended Snakebite (dark bronze shimmer) into the outer part of the lid on a pencil brush to add some depth.  NEW DAWN FADES (8)On the lower lash line I took Tease on a pencil brush and blended it along the lower lash line, I did that thing where I blend the shadow down kind of low as if I were contouring the curve of my eyeball. Sounds weird but I like the way it looks. I feel like it really opens up the eye. Speaking of opening the eye, I lined the waterline with a pale flesh toned pencil and popped Bootycall (cork shimmer) on the inner corner. NEW DAWN FADES (5)I finished the eye with a couple coats of Benefit Roller Lash. First time I have used it. I have had samples hanging out in my back up draw forever. I have def been sleeping on that one cause girl… it’s amazing! Anyway, here’s the finished eye. NEW DAWN FADES (4)
