Ahh yiss, a new tutorial, finally. Been a reviewing binge there. Today I have a smokey and grungy look perfect for late Summer moving into Autumn. For this look, I used the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette as part of my KVD Series.
This look was also inspired by the Danzig song Dirty Black Summer and pretty much my vibe this Summer. It’s grungy, smokey and a little Southern Gothic.
So if you want to see how to get this look, just keep reading below!
Welcome back! I am starting a new brand focus Lust or Bust Series and a little foray into Kat Von D Beauty. Not only will there be Lust or Bust posts where we talk all about the products, the good the bad and the ugly but I will have links to previous reviews and new reviews under way as well as a tutorial or two.
I wanted to start the series off with a Lust or Bust post doing a full overview of all of KVD’s eye products currently available. Most of these I have used and had plenty of experience with aside just a couple of things.
Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen, this morning I have a new tutorial for you guys inspired by AFI’s music video for their single Snow Cats off of the new album, Blood.
There are two versions of the look, one with and one without the washed out teal glow. Both feature a bold red wing and a red lip. For this look, I wanted to keep things very simple color wise much like the video. The colors are for the most part are complementary shades which create very striking imagery. The colors are stark, yet washed out giving them a retro feel. I tried to imitate that tones in the makeup.
Theses opposing shades are paired with minimal geometrics shapes over trippy but muted galaxy background. I drew inspiration from the shapes and tried to create a very graphic and angular wing.
Alrighty, the final conclusion to my Fall Makeup Series.I have one more tutorial for ya’ll featuring the Kat Von D Metal Matte Palette.
I’m kind of sad to be wrapping this series up. I loved doing the dark Type O Negative themed posts but who says just because Fall is coming to end we have to stop being kind of spooky and dark. Heck with it, we’re going full on spooky-ish year round because that’s who I am. We’re keeping the dark undertones around here for sure.
In today’s look, I went for a smoky plum with a pop of rich gold in the center creating a halo eye effect, paired with a dusty pink lip. If you want to see how I created this look, just keep reading below!
Good Evening! Tonight, I have a long awaited review of the Kat Von D Metal Matte Palette. What the heck took so long?! I know right? I wanted to really play with the palette and create some looks with it before I jumped into a review and then I ended up having oral surgery this week which went surprisingly well. Adios wisdom teeth! I also had a makeup gig and a benefit to work. Both turned out great! Enough rambling, on with the makeup talk!
