Welcome back, guys! I have a little bonus post today. I did a collab with Faith Wolff Kuhn where we both used the same Maybelline City Mini Palette in Graffiti Pop and came up with looks. This was a fun collab and my first time trying out a Maybelline City Mini Palette.
Yep, another Maybelline Fit Me review, this time of the Loose Finishing Powder. I have been in search of the perfect affordable loose powder for some time and I think this one might be the winner. If you want to hear my thoughts and see it in action, just keep reading below.
So, I have tried my fair share of setting powders in my day from drugstore to high end. My go-to for high end was the Kat Von D Lock-It Loose Setting Powder and for a while the Coty Airspun from the drugstore. The Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder has blown them out of the water. This one is up there with my Nars powder as a favorite.
I wouldn’t call this a finishing powder personally, It’s a setting powder. To me, a finishing powder is more like an Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder. After reading up on the products I do see where they are coming from calling it a finishing powder though.
I use it to bake and set my face and it works like a dream. It’s like a filter IRL. Honestly one of the best face powders I have ever used. She’s a game changer for me.
“Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder is a mineral-based formula designed to help control shine and smooth skin’s texture with a hint of color. This mineral powder provides the perfect finishing touch to your makeup base.” – according to Maybelline.com
And it truly does everything it claims to do.
The Shade Range
This isn’t a translucent powder and does offer some color and a tad of coverage which I don’t hate. The shade range is pretty nice too and the pigmentation gives the 8 shades versatility for everyone’s skin tone. I feel like there is more leeway with powders than with foundations and concealers.
I use the lightest shade because I am a ghost and if I use too much it can wash me out a bit and give some flashback Mary vibes. I’m not sure if it was actual flashback or if I just went HAM on the powder. After looking into the ingredients, I do see the potential for flashback so use with caution with flash photography.
INGREDIENTS: TALC DIMETHICONE SILICA
Just look how effin smooth my skin looks though. Oh my god! Even around my chin, which is my problem area for creasing and it wears like that all day.
Here’s before blush, bronzer, and highlight. Just after powdering/baking with damp beauty sponge.
And after finishing the makeup.
I think it leaves my skin looking face tuned AF. The finish is velvety but not super heavy or cakey. It controls oil and is mattifying. I do recommend going in with a setting spray to take down any excess powderiness.
The Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder retails everywhere from $5 – $10 depending on where you shop. I found it on Amazon for $5.69 which is a deal! Shop here: https://amzn.to/2GCEYop
What is your favorite setting powder? Loose or pressed. Let me know below. I am on the hunt for a new pressed one.
Happy Monday! Best way to kick this week off is with a review of a fantastic and affordable foundation. I was in a funk all weekend but it’s a new week and a fresh start so let’s talk about some makeup. Today, I have a review of the Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation and spoiler, this is a good one.
Happy Friday… err Saturday, this was supposed to go up yesterday but the day got away from me as usual. Anyway, today, I have a review of the Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation. And guess what?! I am finally back in my studio/office/beauty room! All the makeup has been sorted and put away as well as my office stuff, all that’s left is decor but I am holding off until I get all the decor and the new tech.
Finally, I have my review of the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer. I have actually been using this concealer for quite some time but the review just kept getting push back but since they just released new shades for more skin tones, what better time to review it.
I have some thoughts on this concealer. So if ya wanna see what’s up, just keep reading below!
