Millennial Pink – Go To Spring Makeup + Spring Makeup Favorites

Good Evening! Tonight I have a quick tutorial of my go-to look this spring, using some of my favorite products this spring. It’s super easy to do and takes no time at all. Coming up Friday, I will have a post devoted just to my spring favorites so keep an eye out.

One thing I am loving this Spring is Millennial Pink, and using it in my makeup in a monochromatic style.  photo M PINK 9_zpsm77mwjsm.jpg

I’m really digging the pink mixed with a duo chrome pink highlight. It’s a throwback to the 90’s but has a modern feel. Aesthetic AF

One of the best things about this look is you can use whatever products you have on hand really and use any color that you want. The eyeshadow is mainly done with a blush and highlighter, I used a shadow in the same tone to add some depth. So if you wanna see how to get this crazy effortless look, just keep reading below.

NYX Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder Review

Holo Everybody, it’s me, Christine Anna! Today, I have a quick review of the Nyx Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder. I meant to get this up yesterday but I went to bed super early and was so sleepy, I couldn’t concentrate to even talk makeup.

I picked these up a couple months ago and hadn’t really had a chance to play with them until recently. I have two shades out of the five shades in the collection. I have Snow Rose and Lavender Steel. photo 06 cookiesonme_zpszzqan3th.png

These powders are great if you are wanting to get in on the duo chrome highlighter trend and what a good affordable option.

The Breakdown + Swatches

I picked up the two of the lighter shades in the collection that are gorgeous for pale skin. The duo chrome is hard to show in a photo but the reflect on these is awesome. They are smooth, no glitter or metallic shine, just a dimensional glow.  They have a more wet shine rather than metallic. It’s the closest we can get to a holographic highlight. photo 07 cookiesonme_zps5t6mzyrl.png

The powders are silky and soft, the pigmentation is buildable and beautiful. Great quality for the price point.

They are also a versatile product, you can use them to highlight, on the eyes and on the lips to give a cool effect to your lippies. You can wear them subtle or built up for a bold color shifting shine.  photo Mermaid Awkward 89_zps90g9umcw.png

Snow Rose is described as a white base with pink and lilac duo-chromatic pearls. This one is a dupe for Pink Heart from the ABH Moonchild Glow Kit. This shade is very wearable for every day but still maintains that duo-chromatic feel without looking too over the top.

Lavender Steel is a little more outside the box but is still a stunning shade, similar to the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Prismatic Amethyst, and Amethyst from the Alchemist Palette.  Nyx describes this shade as a soft lavender with pink and lavender duo-chromatic pearls. photo 20170310_003317_zps9iv1uwfg.jpg

Other shades in the collection include Twilight Tint which is a white base with a blue shift similar to Blue Moon from the ABH Moonchild Glow Kit. Crushed Bloom is a warm dusty rose with a contrasting blue reflect and lastly, is Synthetica which is a very warm pink based powder with a golden shift.

For the look here I used Snow Rose on the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose, on the cupids bow and on the eyes to add dimension.

The Verdict

These guys are fab and at $8 each how can you not give these color shifting beauties a try. Release your inner unicorn, mermaid or whatever. I’m enjoying this halo/duo chrome trend because it reminds me of a synthetic cyberpunk kind of thing. I mean if I could look like I have cybernetic skin I am all for it.  photo heartsMermaidhearts 393_zpsissq4hl4.png
