LUMAPRO-C: Brightening Pigment Corrector Serum Review

 photo 20170111_075422_zps1l5akysv.jpg

What up guys? Today I have a skincare review 0f Lumapro-C Brightening Pigment Corrector Serum from Hydropeptide that I received through Brand Backer.

This is probably one of the fanciest skincare products I have used. It’s chalk full of great ingredients to lighten pigmentation, brighten skin and improve the quality overall of one’s skin. photo 20170111_074858_zpsjs0g4nmx.jpg

The Lumapro-C claims to safely brighten and lighten your complexion with a drug-free formula. Reducing the appearance of all types of hyperpigmentation, from age spots, acne, and sun damage using a combination of corrective skin brighteners including 3 Peptides. It also claims to help prevent any further hyperpigmentation.

Lumapro-C has 8  clinical strength brightening ingredients that are supposed to reduce hyperpigmentation by resurfacing your skin and prevents future discoloration that cause an uneven complexion

Key Active and Ingredients.

DermalRX SRC – Breaks down hyperpigmented cells which enhances skin texture and brightness.

Stable Vitamin C – BV-OSC is the most effective and stable vitamin C available.

The instructions say to apply a small amount to a clean face and neck the follow with moisturizer and SPF during the day. They recommend using the serum morning and night.

So, does it really work? Yes. photo steamworkshop_webupload_previewfile_407377783_preview_zpsisrfvvkn.png

After using this serum for about 3 weeks fairly consistently, admittedly I tend to skip the night application. But in the time I have used the Lumapro-C I have started to see a clearer complexion with a reduction of sun damage. If you have been around here for any amount of time or seen my face, you know I have a very fair, and sensitive complexion. For lack of better way to describe my skin, I have Ron Weasley skin. That pinky pale skin that freckles at the mention of sunlight, not to mention I sizzle like bacon in the direct sunlight. (SPF is a must) Anyway, something to help fade some of the hyperpigmentation I haveFotorCreated.png

The Before picture was taken about a month or so ago and the After is from 2 days ago. Despite the lighting being different, you can see the hyperpigmentation is faded somewhat.

Anyway, something to help fade some of the hyperpigmentation I have acquired over the last 30 years from sun damage and acne is a welcome addition to my routine. I’m glad to say the Luma-C has made a gradual difference thus far.  It’s one of those things where you look in the mirror and think, “what’s different about my face?” and you realize it’s way less speckled and blotchy. So yeah, I’m happy with it.bjjbjb.png

I’m really happy with the way my skin looks with makeup on. I the pictures above I’m wearing ELF Beautifully Bare Serum Foundation lightened up with NYX Pro Foundation Mixer which together is a pretty light weight foundation along with minimal concealing just under my eyes with Maybelline Age Rewind. As far as powder I used ELF HD setting powder which gives no additional coverage. I haven’t edited anything about my skin in the photos, just slapped on a watermark and a vignette.

The formula is a typical creamy serum, with a slight citrus scent and a very medicinal scent that I’m not the biggest fan of but I noticed a lot of skincare having that smell. The package is really nice, and hygienic too.

Hydropeptide was cool enough to provide me with a discount code for you guys too. Use code BBLUMA20 to receive 20% off your LumaPro-C purchase.   (It’s just a discount code, I’m not being paid! ) Which is great cause  Luma-C ain’t cheap, it retails for $148. Yeah, $148 is pretty expensive and not an amount I would spend on skincare typically.  That’s my only complaint is the price. It’s kind of ridiculous for 1 fl oz of product. I get it has all these great ingredients and works pretty well, but still. I know there are more affordable alternatives out there. Sorry about it. photo KCC 7_zpsgpcrqphy.png

Anyway, you can purchase the Lumapro-C here:

Keep in mind, that Brandbacker did send me this to review but that all opinions I express are my own, I’m stating the claims of the product and how I feel it performed for me. If it sucked I’d tell you. Trust me. You can check out my other reviews for proof on that. LOL.  photo natieditions00 10_zpsyxcfwfsj.png

Studio Gear Prime Objective Skin Perfecting Face Primer Review

 photo 20161127_090636 2_zps16cehkss.jpg

It’s review time! Today, I have a review of the Studio Gear Prime Objective Skin Perfecting Face Primer. Phew, that is a mouthful! This is the first primer I’ve review which is weird because I love face primer and I’m always on a quest for a good pore minimizing, fine line filling primer. I really do feel like a good primer is worth adding to your makeup routine and can make a difference in how well your makeup applies and  wears throughout the day, not to mention give a smoother appearance to the skin which is always a perk.

PRIME OBJECTIVE is a silicone based face primer that acts to “re-touch”, or visually diminish, imperfections in the surface texture of the skin. PRIME OBJECTIVE contains a sustained release liposome system with retinol that can help support cell turnover and reduce the appearance if fine lines and wrinkles, as well as a milk protein complex that can help to balance and protect the skin against environmental stresses. The “skin perfecting” effect of this state-of-the-art formula is further enhanced with optical diffusers. – Studio Gear

The Studio Gear Prime Objective Skin Perfecting Face Primer is a pretty good option if you like silicone-based primers which I do, not only does it diminish the look of pores and fine lines but it also offers some skincare benefits that help protect and condition your skin through the day. This primer does a lovely job smoothing out the skin so you have a perfect canvas for the rest of your makeup.Beyond the smoothing effect, the primer has what the brand calls Optical Diffusers and help add a brightened effect and blurs out any imperfections. The primer has an opalescent appearance when it’s straight out of the pump because of the diffusers but is undetectable on the face once it’s blended out. The skincare benefits of this primer are what really makes it stand out to me. Made with Retinol and Milk Protein 20 which are amazing for your skin. I’m a huge fan of anything with Retinol!I’ve used the primer for over a week giving it a really good test with different foundations and it performed great with all of them, from ELF to Nars. Our weather here in LA is crazy, from a light freeze to humid and hot all within a matter of days allowed me to test it under different circumstances and again, it performed great. You can see an example below. I think my skin looks pretty dang good.  photo 20161127_110545_zps4eqfqgav.jpgThe only downside to me is the price point, coming in at $30 but considering the skincare benefits I guess it’s justified. You get 1 oz of product which is standard. You can purchase Studio Gear Prime Objective Skin Perfecting Face Primer @

Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum Review

 photo 20161001_071538_zpsudlfjzwa.jpg

Happy October guys! I’m kicking off the new month and new week with a review of the Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum. Can you tell I’ve been really into skincare lately. Now, that I’m 29 skincare has gotten much more important as I start to see a few signs of aging, like those little smile lines getting deeper, and frown lines that don’t un-frown anymore so it’s the time to get proactive about the situation. I was super excited when Valentia sent me a retinol product through Brand Backer to try out because from what I have gathered retinol is kind of a miracle worker for all most our skin woes. As I mentioned before, on top of the more pronounced lines, I have some issues with texture, tone and blackheads so I’m really hoping this brings a change over time.

A potent blend of Retinol, with essential vitamins and botanicals specifically chosen to enhance Retinols efficacy work together to create the serum your skin care dreams are made of. Retinol works down to the cellular level to stimulate collagen production and diminish even the deepest of wrinkles. Vitamin C helps Retinol penetrate deeper into the skin, while Vitamin E and Squalane nourish and hydrate, counteracting the drying effects of Retinol and maximizing anti-aging benefits. This transformative retinol serum will turn back the clock, giving you visibly smoother, rejuvenated skin.

The packaging like all other Valentia products is pretty luxe, a nice glass bottle. It comes with a dropper too since the serum is rather thin in consistency. Even the dropper is glass.

 photo 20161001_071609_zpskzfzwnwb.jpg

So far, I think the product is doing good for me, I haven’t really had time to really test it out because of what I mentioned in my previous post, even my skincare regime was on the back burner. However, I have started applying the serum at night time before bed with my other night time products. I feel like it’s a good addition to my bedtime skincare team which includes a heavy moisturizer and Valentia Clear Lift Revitalizing Serum .

Short Term
– Conditions & nourishes skin
– Manages breakouts
– More luminous complexion
Long Term
– Evens skin discoloration
– Stimulates collagen production
– Diminishes fine lines & wrinkles

Specially selected ingredients:
Retinol (Vitamin A): This clinically proven antioxidant is a triple threat! It works at the cellular level to stop wrinkles from forming, manages acne breakouts, and even out skin discoloration. Retinol helps reverse the clock, for more youth looking and acting skin.
Vitamin C: An essential nutrient that boosts Retinol’s protective effects, guarding skin against nasty free radicals and environmental damage to prevent premature aging.
Vitamin E: Specifically chosen for its superior moisture protection. Vitamin E floods the skin hydration, diminishing the drying effects of Retinol.
Squalane: Derived for pure olive oil, this nutrient-rich ingredient softens and conditions delicate skin. It further assists in mitigating the dryness caused by Retinol while reducing the appearance of fine lines.

Valentia Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer Review!

photo 20160909_090613_zpsgntkdfog.jpgWelcome back to Bee Beauty. Today I have a new skin care review of the Valentia Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer. You know I was happy when Valentia sent this me through Brand Backer to review, my dry skin and I have been in a battle like nobodies business this summer. I’ve also really enjoyed everything I’ve tried from Valentia, so let’s see how this one goes.

Packed with brightening power, this moisturizer helps to lighten pigmentation marks and enhance the radiance of your overall complexion. With energizing antioxidants like Ginseng and Kojic Acid to control melanin production, dark spots are faded and collagen production is enhanced, revealing firmer more even skin. Skin moisture is replenished and protected with Botanical Hyaluronic Acid, Safflower and Shea Butter. Tired and dull looking skin is restored to unveil a healthier, more vibrant glow!  – Valentia

I love that most of Valentia’s products help with dark spots, I got plenty to work on. I’ve used the moisturizer now for about a week, applying it every morning as a part of my morning routine.
photo 20160909_084645_zpsqq0zilrh.jpgIn my opinion, this is the perfect day time moisturizer for my dry skin. It’s hydrating but light weight, so it wears great under makeup without getting greasy.

Short Term

  • – Provides all-day hydration
  • – Instantly restore radiance
  • – Tight skin feels nourished

Long Term

  • – Lightens dark spots
  • – Evens skin tone
  • – Diminishes fine lines

I’m looking forward to the long-term benefits, I’m almost 30 now and the fine lines have begun so any help I can get I will take. I’ll keep you posted one the long-term in a Current Favorites ( I really need to start doing those)

As far as the short-term, my skin does feel nice and hydrated all day as well soft. My skin feels nourished, radiant and bright.

  • Botanical Hyaluronic Acid:  This plant-based substance penetrated deep into the skin to secure moisture, support skin elasticity, and plump the skin from within.
  • Kojic Acid:  Known for its skin-lightening properties, this antioxidant helps to naturally control melanin production and prevent dark spots.
  • Ginseng: A symbol of long-life, strength, and wisdom, Ginseng boosts skin-firming collagen, fights wrinkles, and gives the skin a brighter and more energized look.
  • Safflower Oil: Rich in linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid that helps to repair the skin’s natural moisture barrier, providing superior protection.
  • Shea Butter: This wonder nut contains a myriad of regenerative vitamins and essential fatty acids, providing a welcome dose of moisture, hydrating and nourishing the skin.

As always Valentia has great heathy skin care ingredients!
